Vinicunca – 7 Colour Mountain Trek

Overview

This trek offers a remote landscape experience through a spectacular mountain range. Vinicunca, also known as 7 Colour Mountain, is located in the Andes of Peru in the Cusco region. For thousands of years the mountain was covered by snow and ice and it was only, until recently that melting snow uncovered the rainbow mountain which has now become a popular area to explore.

Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – QUESOYONI
Early this morning you will be taken from Cusco to the archaeological site of Uchullucllo, then to Qesoyoni, where your trek will begin, to the first camp. Along the way you will have the opportunity to see amazing landscapes. Once in the camp, you will participate in an acclimtisation walk, followed by dinner. (L, D)

DAY 2: TREK THROUGH THE MOUNTAIN RANGE – CUSCO
This morning you will enjoy an early breakfast before beginning the trek through the mountain range. The hike takes approximately three hours before reaching the 7 Colour Mountain. Afterwards you will be taken back to Qesoyoni. Enjoy the surroundings before returning to Cusco in the late afternoon. (B)
