Overview

Kenya is a land of rich contrasts – from Nairobi, a modern cosmopolitan city to lush farm lands, harsh deserts, and wide open plains known for the great herds of roaming wildlife. This safari has been designed to take in the highlights of this wonderful country staying in luxury boutique lodges offering outstanding cuisine and service, at the same time offering amazing value for money, and wonderful game experiences.

Itinerary

DAY 1: NAIROBI
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and transferred to HEMINGWAYS HOTEL for your overnight stay. (D)

DAYS 2 – 3: NAIROBI – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
This morning, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Amboseli – best known for its views of Kilimanjaro and its large elephant population. On arrival at the airstrip, you will be met and transferred to TORTILIS CAMP for your two-night stay. Afterwards, depart on an afternoon game drive. The following day enjoy an early morning safari and walking safari following lunch. (B, L, D)

DAY 4: AMBOSELI – LOISABA CONSERVANCY
After breakfast, depart for Amboseli airstrip with a game drive en-route. Board your scheduled flight to Loisaba Conservancy, where you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. Enjoy lunch upon arrival, with the option for activities or a game drive in the afternoon. Three nights ELEWANA LOISABA TENTED CAMP. (B, L, D)

DAYS 5 – 6: LOISABA CONSERVANCY
Spend the next two days exploring Loisaba Conservancy. Rise early for a walking safari with Samburu guides, enjoy game drives, visit the anti-poaching sniffer dog team, go horse/camel-back riding, or trekking. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: LOISABA CONSERVANCY – MAASAI MARA
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Loisaba airstrip. Here you will board your scheduled flight to the Maasai Mara. On arrival, you will be transferred to ELEWANA SAND RIVER MAASAI MARA CAMP for your three-night stay. After lunch, enjoy a game drive and sundowners. (B, L, D)

DAYS 8 – 9: MAASAI MARA
Spend two full days game viewing in the Mara. The area is host to a large concentration of big cats, such as lion, cheetah, leopard and plains game such as gazelle and zebra. On the final evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at the camp. (B, L, D)

DAY 10: MAASAI MARA
After your last game drive in the Maasai Mara, you will be transferred to the airstrip to catch your scheduled flight back to Nairobi. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel day room. Then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight. (B)

Elewana Sand River Maasai Mara Camp

Sand River Masai Mara is located alongside the banks of the Mara river. Close to the border of the Serengeti National Park, within the Masai Mara National Reserve and close to the Tanzanian border, Sand River Mara lies on the most northerly route of the spectacular Annual Migration. Sand River Masai Mara is an ideal destination, at any time of the year, for those wishing to enjoy exceptional game-viewing. The National Reserve is best known for its large concentrations of big cats, such as leopard, cheetah and, of course, lion. Sand River Masai Mara comprises of 16-tented accommodations – including 1 family tent – each divided into two separate but adjoining campsites, with each area possessing its own designated dining and public areas, thereby creating an increased sense of exclusivity and privacy.

Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp

Located within Loisaba Conservancy, Elewana Loisaba Lodo Springs offers an ultra-private experience with eight individual, spacious tented rooms with impressive views that reach across the magical landscape of northern Kenya stretching out to Mount Kenya. Service is paramount, with each room assigned an Elewana Guest Ambassador to serve and cater to guests’ every need, as well as a dedicated safari vehicle and a highly qualified Elewana field guide who will accompany guests for the duration of their stay.

Hemingways Hotel

Hemingways Nairobi is located only 2 km from the Karen Blixen Museum and 10 km from the Langata Giraffe Sanctuary, 15 km away from the Elephant and Rhino Nursery and 20 km away from Nairobi National Park. The 45 spacious rooms and suites (two penthouse style Presidential Suites and 43 Junior Suites) all have elegant decor and vaulted ceilings. It features a seating area, a balcony/terrace and the suites include a dining area and a well-equipped kitchenette. Other hotel facilities include a spa, an outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant. Elephant Pepper Camp

Elephant Pepper Camp is in the middle of the northern part of the Masai Mara. To preserve this special area, the camp is seasonal and closes for two months of the year, during the rainy season. The camp has 8 ensuite spacious safari tents with twin or double beds, all luxuriously furnished. Elephant Pepper Camp is renowned for its home cooked Italian cuisine, freshly home baked bread, and fresh salads.

Elsa's Kopje

Elsa’s Kopje is named after Elsa the lioness and was made famous by George and Joy Adamson’s biographical book and film ‘Born Free’. It blends into the rocky crags of the ‘kopje’ (small hill), built above the site of George Adamson’s original campsite. Each cottage has spacious double or twin beds with an en-suite and elegantly appointed bathrooms. There is an open bar, lounge and dining room with an exceptionally inviting infinity pool that overlooks the Meru plains.

Tortilis Camp

Tortilis Camp is a luxury camp located in its conservancy bordering Amboseli National Park with superb views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. This camp offers sixteen spacious tents raised on wooden decks amongst a private forest below the public areas. The public area, located on a hill overlooking the tents, has a spacious dining room and lounge area. Here, enjoy a sundowner and recharge with a delicious boma dinner.
