This spectacular 12-day journey begins in Pretoria and winds its way along the coast of Namibia, a country of endless horizons and striking beauty. First stop is Kimberley to visit the Big Hole and Diamond Mine Museum village. Continue across the Karoo to Upington for a walking tour and wine tasting. After crossing the border, visit the Fish River Canyon, second only in size to the Grand Canyon. Afterwards, enjoy tours of historical towns Lüderitz, Kolmanskop and Keetmanshoop. Also enjoy a night at a Sossusvlei lodge surrounded by the dramatic dunes of the Namib-Naukluft Park and visit the natural Sesriem Canyon and the 170m-high star dune “45”. Finally, leave the vast stillness of the Kalahari Desert for a tour of Windhoek and an overnight stay in Etosha with game-viewing activities. Arrive at journey’s end in the seaside town of Walvis Bay.

Enjoy breakfast before approaching Kimberley. As you arrive, you will have the chance to see flocks of Lesser flamingoes around a shallow lake on the right-hand side of the train. Upon arrival, you will be taken on a tour of the city, Diamond Mine Museum and the Big Hole. Return to the train as you depart Kimberley and travel through the Karoo. (B, L, D)

Day 4Fish River Canyon
This morning you will visit Fish River Canyon. Return to the train for lunch. (B, L, D)
Day 5Kolmanskop and Luderitz
An early breakfast is served before visiting the ghost town of Kolmanskop. Also visit Luderitz, known for its museum, architecture and wildlife. Return to the train and depart for Keetmanshoop. (B, D)
Day 6Keetmanshoop and Garas Park
Morning tour of Keetmanshoop. See the Giant's Playground and Quiver Tree Forest, home to 300 species of the Aloe dichotomy. Return to the train and depart for Mariental. Enjoy lunch on board. (B, L, D)
Transfer to a Sossusvlei lodge in the Namib Naukluft Park. Visit the Sesriem Canyon. Overnight at lodge. (B, L, D)
Day 8Sossusvlei and Namib Naukluft Park
Enjoy an early breakfast before being transferred to the Deadvlei. Watch the sunrise at Dune 45 before brunch at the lodge. Take a scenic drive through the Namib-Naukluft Park before returning to the train. Depart for Rehoboth. (B, L, D)
This morning you will be taken on a city tour of Windhoek. See the Trans-Namib Transport Museum, the Alte Feste (Old Fortress), the Evangelical Lutheran Church – a striking landmark – and the Namibia Craft Centre in the old Breweries Building. Return to the train and depart for Otjiwarongo. Enjoy lunch on board. (B, L, D)
Day 10Etosha National Park
You will be transferred to a lodge in Etosha National Park. Enjoy game-viewing activities. Overnight at lodge. (B, L, D)
Day 11Etosha National Park
Enjoy a morning game drive before checking out and returning to the train. Rejoin the train in Otjiwarongo and depart for Kranzberg for overnight. (B, L, D)
Day 12Arrive Walvis Bay
Arrive at Walvis Bay Station, marking the end of your journey. (B)
