Located 8 hours from Puerto Maldonado in a private reserve on the Madre de Dios River; the Manu Wildlife Centre offers tours for those especially interested in rainforest wildlife. While its remoteness requires an extra effort to reach, the reward is its proximity to the local birdlife and animals like the macaw and tapir, as well as other flora and fauna. The lodge is rustic and comprises 22 comfortable bungalows each with private facilities.
Spend the next 3 days experiencing a mixture of river life, jungle hiking, birding and animal-spotting. A jungle lodge stay is a way to enjoy the beauty of the Amazon basin with the sounds, smells and sights of the jungle.
