With the Madagascar Southern Explorer itinerary, hop off the beaten track and experience barefoot luxury in South Eastern Madagascar. This itinerary offers wildlife viewing, forest walks as well as cultural interaction at the river camp. Whilst Manafiafy, situated on an unspoilt beach, offers canoeing, snorkelling, and seasonal whale watching.

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight at PAVILLION DE L’EMYRNE, or similar.
Day 2Antananarivo - Fort Dauphin
After breakfast, fly to Fort Dauphin (not included), on the south–eastern coast of Madagascar. You will be met and driven west towards Antandroy Spiny Forest. Your journey takes you through the rice paddies of the eastern seaboard over the lush tropical plateau to the arid region of “spiny forest”. Three nights at MANDRARE RIVER CAMP. (B, L, D)
Days 3 - 4Mandrare River Camp
Activities include a trip to the sacred Antandroy forest to view the lemurs and birds, watching the sun set at the Baobabs, night walks, a trip to the giant sand dunes of Lake Anony and a visit to a local village. (B, L, D)
Day 5Mandrare River Camp to Manafiafy
This morning you will be transferred to Fort Dauphin in time for lunch then continue on through plantations of mango, citrus, pineapples and bananas to the ocean coast and Manafiafy. Three nights at MANAFIAFY BEACH AND RAINFOREST LODGE (B, L, D)
Days 6 - 7Manafiafy
Activities include canoeing, day and night walks in the rainforest to see various species of lemur, snorkelling in the bay and seasonal whale watching from the observation tower. (B, L, D)
Day 8Manafiafy - Antananarivo
Today, you will be transferred to Fort Dauphin airport for your scheduled flight to Antananarivo (not included), which will mark the end of your tour. (B)
