Day 1
Arrive Lima
On arrival in Lima you will be met and transferred to your HOTEL for your two-night stay in the Peruvian capital.

Day 2
Lima
After breakfast, you will be taken on a guided city tour of Lima. Explore the colonial old town - a UNESCO World Heritage site that boasts a rich history and exquisite architecture. Visit the Main Square, Lima Cathedral, Casa Aliaga and Larco Museum before either returning to your hotel or visiting the Larcomar Shopping Centre. (B)

Day 3
Lima – Arequipa
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Arequipa. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your HOTEL, en route enjoying a city tour. Begin in Arequipa’s Main Square which features the city’s imposing 17th century cathedral before continuing to the Monastery of Santa Catalina. Built in 1579 and still in use today, the religious citadel features baroque architecture and a collection of paintings and murals. Your tour will end in the Yanahuara and Carmen Alto districts. (B)

Day 4
Arequipa – Colca Valley & Canyon
Today you will leave the city, travelling through rugged hills before entering Pampa Cañahuas Reserve where vicuñas and camelid can be seen grazing. Continue to Mirador de los Andes for views of the surrounding volcanoes before heading to the town of Chivay for lunch. In the afternoon you will arrive at your HOTEL in Colca and spend the rest of the day at leisure either at the hotel or visiting the thermal springs at La Calera. (B, L)

Day 5
Colca Valley & Canyon – Puno
Begin your day with a visit to Condor Cross which is renowned for its panoramic views of the surrounding valley and the majestic condor. Returning to the Chivay district, you will visit the towns of Pinchollo, Maxa, Achoma and Yanque, along with the Antahuilque and Choquetico viewpoints. Your journey will continue to Puno via Patahuasi. (B, L)

Day 6
Puno – Lake Titicaca (Uros & Taquile Islands)
This morning you will be transferred to Puno’s lake port. Here, you will board a boat that will take you to the floating islands of Uros. The Uros community live on islands constructed from woven reeds. After a tour of the islands, continue to the island of Taquile, which was once part of the Inca Empire. Enjoy lunch and a cultural activity before returning to Puno. (B, L)

Day 7
Puno – Cusco
After breakfast you will be transferred to the bus station where you will board your bus to Cusco, stopping at a range of towns and sites on the way. Your first stop will be at Pucara which was first inhabited between 300 and 100 B.C. Continue through La Raya – the highest point of the journey, before stopping at Sicuani for lunch. Wiracocha Temple in Racchi – the Incan site built in honour of the Andean god Wiracocha, and the Church of Andahuaylillas are the last stops before your arrival in Cusco. (B, L)

Day 8
Cusco
Today you will be taken on a tour of the city and nearby archaeological sites. Begin at Coricancha, also known as “Temple of the Sun”. Built by Inca Pachacuti, the Spaniards reclaimed it as the foundation of the Santo Domingo Convent. Continue to other sites including the Cathedral, Sacsayhuaman, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. At the conclusion of your tour, return to your HOTEL. (B)

Day 9
Cusco – Machu Picchu – Cusco
Today you will travel to the renowned Inca citadel – Machu Picchu. Begin with a train journey to Aguas Calientes before a short transfer to the archaeological site. Marvel at what once was a sanctuary for the Inca Pachacutec before the Spanish Conquest. At the end of your tour you will return to Aguas Calientes for lunch at Café Inkaterra before your journey back to Cusco. (B, L)

Cusco
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. Your exploration of Peru will conclude here. (B)
