Overview

Although still relatively untouched, Zambia offers some of the best game viewing in Southern Africa. This safari visits one of the most exciting areas, South Luangwa National Park, as well as one of the most beautiful, Lower Zambezi National Park, located right on the Zambezi River. With good accommodation, great food and friendly service this is a must for those looking for something different.

Itinerary

DAY 1: LUSAKA – SOUTH LUANGWA
Today you will be flown to South Luangwa. On arrival you will be met and transferred to KAFUNTA RIVER LODGE for your five-night stay. This lodge has the only natural hot spring tub in the area and offers magnificent views. (L, D)

DAYS 2 – 5: SOUTH LUANGWA
Kafunta River Lodge is ideally situated, overlooking a vast floodplain of the Luangwa River. The area, home to an array of diverse game, is the perfect safari experience. Explore South Luangwa National Park on game drives in open vehicles, night drives, and bush walks. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: SOUTH LUANGWA – LOWER ZAMBEZI
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Mfuwe airstrip, for your onward flight via Lusaka to Royal in the Lower Zambezi. On arrival, you will be transferred to your camp. Four nights at ZAMBEZI GRANDE. (B, L, D)

DAYS 7 – 9: LOWER ZAMBEZI
Spend the next three days discovering the Zambezi River area. Enjoy the plethora of activities available, including game drives (day and night), walking safaris, fishing, canoeing and boat cruises. (B, L, D)

DAY 10: LOWER ZAMBEZI – LUSAKA
Early this morning you will be transferred to the airstrip for
your return flight to Lusaka. This will mark the end of you

Zambezi Grande

Zambezi Grande offers unparalleled luxury and tranquility, its riverside location the perfect escape. Chongwe River Camp

Chongwe River Camp is located at the confluence of the Zambezi River and its tributary, the Chongwe River, which forms the western boundary of the Lower Zambezi National Park. The nine tents at the Chongwe River Camp are large, well-appointed safari tents set under thatch, with open-air en-suite bathrooms. Situated under a canopy of albida thorns and surrounded by cool lawns, the tents command fabulous views of the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi rivers from their private decks. Enjoy watching the wildlife that comes to the river to drink, including the spectacular variety of birds found here, as you sip on a cool drink.

Three Rivers Camp

Three Rivers Camp is set at the confluence of the Luangwa, Kapamba and Lusangazi Rivers in South Luangwa, Zambia. The 5 stylish tents lay under shady sausage trees and are facing either the Luangwa River or the game-rich lagoon. The dining lounge is discreetly set on the banks of the river, with a welcoming bar and relaxing chairs. Observe the hippos and crocodiles basking on the beaches ahead and keep your camera at hand to capture the swift African Skimmer or colourful bee-eater. After dinner enjoy the fireplace or listen to lions roaring in the distance.

Kafunta River Lodge

Kafunta River Lodge is adjacent to the Luangwa River and the South Luangwa National Park, overlooking the game rich flood plain. The lodge consist of 8 chalets on raised wooden platforms with thatched roofs and 2 luxury suites. All chalets and suites are spacious, features private verandas with panoramic views. From the central lounge and dining area, guests can enjoy nature and the wildlife in comfort. Relax around the campfire, enjoy a candle lit meal or refreshing drink on the spacious wooden deck. Kafunta River Lodge also has its own pontoon which allows guests to cross the river to the more remote areas of the park.
