The Ushuaia accommodates a maximum of 88 passengers in 46 comfortable cabins and suites. This ice-strengthened polar vessel provides spacious decks, as well as a large dining room. Additionally, an open-plan observation lounge/lecture room with modern multimedia equipment, bar and a well-stocked library. The expert captain, officers and crew all have a great love of nature and expert Antarctic navigation skills. The knowledgeable onboard specialist team of international expedition leaders and lecturers have a strong dedication to protecting the environment. The chefs prepare excellent cuisine including many local specialties and the bar offers a good choice of carefully selected wines and spirits.

Each ship will offer a slightly different cruise itinerary which may include a flight sector or pre embarkation accommodation. Itineraries vary in duration, additional or less time being spent in the Weddell Sea. All voyages are expeditions and are dependent on local weather and ice conditions.

Days 3 - 4Weddell Sea
Cruise towards the Weddell Sea and cross the Antarctic Convergence, a boundary to a world of ice. Depending on the ice conditions, the voyage will aim to enter Antarctic Sound where you may see tabular icebergs that have calved from massive ice shelves – a wonderful sight that will be etched into your memory forever.
Days 5 - 7Weddell Sea
Possible landing sites in this area are the Adelie and Gentoo penguin colonies of Brown Bluff or Paulet Island, the fossil rich Seymour Island or Snow Hill Island to see the Emperor Penguins.
Days 8 - 9Weddell Sea
On departure from the Weddell Sea, you will take with you wonderful memories as you head to the Peninsula’s beautiful western flanks. Enjoy shore excursions to experience various wildlife colonies.
Days 10 - 11Drake Passage
Sail across the Drake Passage and whilst on deck, search for whales and seabirds and also enjoy the last of the lectures on board.
