The ice-strengthened M/V Plancius is an ideal ship for polar expeditions; accommodating 116 passengers in 53 cabins all with private bathrooms. There are 6 types of cabins from which to choose; quad, triple, twin porthole, twin window as well as deluxe and superior. Additionally, the ship offers a restaurant/lecture room on deck 3 and a spacious observation lounge and bar on deck 5 offering full panoramic views. Furthermore, there are large open deck spaces on deck 3 allowing guests excellent opportunities to enjoy the scenery and wildlife. M/V Plancius features 10x Mark V zodiacs, with 40 HP 4-stroke outboard engines. There are 2 gangways on the starboard side, guaranteeing swift zodiac operation.
Each ship will offer a slightly different cruise itinerary which may include a flight sector or preembarkation accommodation. Itineraries vary in duration, with more or less time being spent cruising the Antarctic Peninsula. These expeditions will be dependent on local weather and ice conditions.

Your journey will begin as you embark in Ushuaia and set sail down the Beagle Channel.
Days 2 - 3Drake Passage
Today you will commence sailing across the Drake Passage, where you can watch for many species of albatross, Cape pigeons and Antarctic petrels. Join the polar experts and learn about Antarctica from their informative lectures, whilst meeting fellow travellers onboard.
Days 4 - 8Antarctic Peninsula
This morning all eyes will be focused on the horizon to witness the first icebergs, the first penguins and the first glimpse of the South Shetland Islands. You will have many days to explore the spectacular sights with up to two shore landings and zodiac excursions per day. Witness the wonderland of the Antarctic Peninsula where thousands of penguins go about their daily activities and keep a lookout for pods of whales and leopard seals basking on the icebergs. Witness the beauty of snow-capped peaks and visit historic sites and scientific stations.
Days 9 - 10Drake Passage
Today you will continue sailing across the Drake Passage and have the opportunity to enjoy the company of fellow travellers on deck, as you search for whales and seabirds and enjoy the last of the lectures on board.
Today you will arrive at Ushuaia, where you will disembark.
